It’s Been Sew Long

I started a quilt for Little’s brand new daybed back when it was brand new. That was two years ago and the quilt is still not finished. Well, I am determined to get it done before my friend Cris, the one who is “teaching me to make a quilt” graduates from seminary and leaves town; taking her quilting knowledge with her.

I had gotten a bit desperate and offered Megan money to sew my straight and monotonous lines for me (she is so speedy), but I think Cris didn’t like that idea because right after I told her about it, she committed to coming by for a visit that week and said, “I’ll just sew a couple lines while I am there.” And she did. And then she asked if she could come by every other Wednesday to hang out (heck yeah!) and “just sew a couple lines each time.”

Well, the actual point was for ME to make my daughter a quilt, so I have sewn three lines a day for the past three days. At this rate I will be finished by November. . . just in time to start on KB’s. . .

That’s great news! Yay for your friend Cris! And yay for you for doing it! It’s adorable, by the way. And as much as I hate to say it, I probably would have shelved it here for a while anyway – I’m bad about that these days. Not to mention I hate to charge friends for work I’d otherwise want to do with/for them. You know what I’m saying?

I wish I could come hang out on Wednesdays. That would be soooo fun!

    Will you teach me next?

I remember seeing the material 2 or more years ago on your living room floor at Gulf. It’s looking great now.
