Change is comin’

Every day is a reminder that change is constant. I have spent the past two days making curtains for new bedrooms and this little one inside me kicks more and harder every day. If this is ANY indication of how fiesty she is going to be outside the womb . . . I am going to start praying NOW!

Another change upon us is Little’s school. She has been at Good Shepherd School for Children and Therapy Services since March and with their therapists for two years. Next week is her last week there. She is starting at our Early Childhood Center on August 13 and her daddy and I just keep shaking our head. I KNOW she will love it and I KNOW it is the best thing – – but there is fear mixed in their as I send my little lamb out into the world.

So, we will stop thinking about that for now and be so thankful for the teachers at GSS who have loved our Little and helped her learn SO MUCH! I am searching for ideas of how to show our appreciation – if you have a goody then let me know. (Especially you teachers who know what is a BUMMER – Erika!)

The teacher holding Little is Mrs. Debra and Mrs. Shannon is to the left.

Ankles . . . Or Popsicles!

Yes, we made popsicles and Little keeps calling them ankles. I have no idea why but it is stuck in that head and not going anywhere. We bought the freezer ditties at Target and from that moment on Little kept saying, “We are going to make ankles.” So, Sunday before naps she helped me make the grape koolaid and we poured it in and put the ditties in the freezer. They weren’t really ready until the next day when the children doned daddy’s tshirts and jumped in their chairs. Bubba kept alternating between saying, “yum” and “oh-no”. Yum after a bite and oh-no after seeing the juice running down his arm. Little didn’t say a word – she just ate that ankle!

Funny thing is, there are two more popsicles in the freezer waiting to be eaten and Little keeps having to check on them. She will ask to hold them, will say, “They are cold. For another time.” and give them back to me. We are eating those suckers this afternoon and getting it over with!

Changes. . .

Well, I have been computerless for four days while we switched every bedroom in the house. Little is in the office, Bubba is in our old room, we are in Bubba’s old room and the new baby will be in Lily’s old room. I tried to make such a big deal about Little getting a new room so the transition might go smoothly. She looked at me Sunday night and said, “My room is the office.” From a girl who doesn’t use spontaneous speech this was a treat. From the perspective that she seemed to feel she was calling my bluff, it was hilarious.

One of the hold ups on the computer was that my honey was putting the final touches on the desk it would sit on. My sister-in-law had this desk in college and left it here when they moved overseas. I finally asked if we could do some work on it and this is what my honey did. Isn’t he GREAT???

Also, it stormed this week and temperatures have dropped. It isn’t supposed to even reach 90 degrees through next Tuesday! Thank you Jesus!
