Up and Running

So, God has provided for the Kicks once again. Why do we ever doubt Him? A computer that had been replaced by a newer model was on it’s way out and people who love us sent it our way. Turns out it is in super condition and Honey is just thrilled with it. So, I have access to the outside world again and he has his laptop back as his own. Thank you Thank you to those who made this possible.

I go for my second non stress test today and am hoping for no stress. I am drinking coffee today to get her going – no sleep until after 10:00AM!!!

Now a Little story – for most parents, hearing complete sentences from their 3.5 year old is something they would like to STOP. With Little it is something we pray about together each night – that she would be able to communicate her thoughts with us and we would be able to know her and what is going on in her head. Well, yesterday I was in the kitchen fixing dinner – her new “thing” is to watch, reach for every ingredient, and say, “I’ll eat it.” Sounds cute? It is not. So, last night I thought I would send her on an errand.

“Little? Could you go in the den and get mommy’s phone?”
Little takes off to the den and returns empty handed. Many times she gets distracted so I repeated, “Little? Did you forget to get mommy’s phone?”
She takes off again to the den and returns empty handed.
Again I say, “Little – could you go to the den and get mommy’s phone?”
She stops, looks at me, and says, “I don’t know where it is!”
I started laughing, gave her a hug, and went to show her my phone. She was tickled pink that we had shared that moment – – as was I.

Family Fun

Last week daddy was out of town. While daddy’s away the family will play! So, we did a little craft time at our house. Bubba was mostly concerned with throwing toilet paper rolls like balls but Little got into the activity and is so proud of the “pumpakin” results. To learn how to make your own toilet paper roll pumpkins go here.

We also went out and got autumn/winter big boy shoes for Bubba. The whole experience was hilarious and I think I have a shoe lover on my hands. At first he was rooted to the spot as if his feet weighed 100 lbs. each – even said, “please help, mommy”. Then he realized he had sure footing and he was off. He loves wearing socks as much as the shoes!!

Some “school” pictures of Bubba’s are included too. He is too adorable with is backpack and loves that there are diggers and an excavator on it. He is loving his one morning a week at Toddler Time and charming his teachers. I am thrilled he is enjoying it.

Glad honey got back when he did. I had my first of five routine tests for the baby this week and ended up being at the hospital for five hours (ish). She just wouldn’t wake up and do what they wanted her too and so they kept considering each test failed. Finally, after a nice lunch and more comfortable testing accomodations, she chose to awake, stretch and score 10 out of 10. Such a Kick! When we wake up and go for it we are a bunch of over achievers!

Long Overdue

Well, Little has been riding the bus for two weeks now and she loves it. The ride home turned out to be a bit long so I called and said we would only be doing one way – in response they took four or five kids off her route so she could get home more quickly! She is just as happy about it as I am. Here are photos from her first day. . . Bubba loves to wait with her but is so sad when she is gone. The driver jumps up and buckles her in. On the way home there is a woman who just rides to keep kids company and do the buckling, etc. I think she is accountability for the male driver too – lawsuit stuff. I am thankful for her – she sings with Little every day.

This is just an extra picture of Bubba for the grandparents. Enjoy! Story behind it: a complete stranger, who knows a friend of ours, gave us 8 bags of clothes for Bubba – sized 3T-5T. Some weren’t in great shape, but many will do just fine – thank you Jesus! In the bags were these rainboots. For two days straight one of my kids had them on. They are a bit big for Bubba which made it even more fun to watch!
