1. First I have to say that I forgot what Bebo Norman looks like. Okay? Innocent mistake – I don’t see him that often. His face pops up on our Pandora Christmas channel but that’s just not enough to hammer home his appearance. So, yesterday in the van when KB stopped in the middle of Bebo’s Come and Worship to ask me what he looked like I made something up. I said, “He looks like Pastor Mark but much shorter.” KB replied, “You mean he doesn’t have any hair?”
2. Our “Christmas in the Car” cd has quite a variety. Veggietales, Bebo Norman, the Chipmunks, Sixpence None the Richer, and more. Bubba has been singing the twelve days of Christmas along with Alvin, Simon, and Theodore; it’s adorable. His version:
“On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love said to me: 12 drummers drumming, 11 pipers piping, 10 lords are leaving, 9 ladies dancing, 8 mates are milking, 7 swans are swimming, 6 pieces of lane, 5 gold and rings, four calming birds, 3 friends’ chins, 2 turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree!!!!!”
3. There is nothing quite as beautiful as hearing Little sing all twelve verses of The Twelve Days of Christmas completely off-key. The song itself = annoying. Singing off-key = annoying. Little + song + tone-deaf = AWESOME.
4. I picked up KB from Toddler Time yesterday and the first thing she showed me was a shepherd made from a dum dum who was holding a staff made from a candy cane. It really was cute (and I am sure a dentist came up with the idea). She looked up at me and said, “Mom, can we go spread the good news?” I asked, “What’s the good news? She replied, “Jesus Christ is born!” Amen and Amen!
I love to read your words and know your heart for your sweet kiddos. You had me smiling thinking of all the Christmas singing going on in the blue hutch van…
I love Bubba’s new words to the song! Alvin and the Chipmunks rendition of the 12 days of Christmas is one of my favorites.
