First Prayers

Honey worked late tonight and that means that kiddos went to bed just a bit early; 15 minutes, but every minute counts after a day at home and evening alone with three little ones.

It’s weird to post a photo of your kids brushing their teeth, right? But honestly, aren’t they adorable? Sometimes I get all caught up in how sweet and cute they are and I just can’t stand it. (Then the bubble bursts and I remember why they are going to bed 15 min. early.)

After the brushing of the teeth I announced it was time to climb up in our beds and Little asked, “Can we say prayers first?” Of course I said yes and we headed into Bubba’s room for what I think is one of the most special times of my day. Little announced she was going to snuggle with Bubba during prayers and proceeded to climb under the covers beside him. He turned on his side and stuck his thumb in his mouth and this is what I heard next. . .

Little flipped over on her tummy, clasped her hands and said, “We’re gonna pray like this tonight, Bubba.” Pause.
“Hold your hands like this, Bubba.” Pause
“I am going to pray, Bubba, hold your hands.”
Finally I broke in and asked Little if she would just begin and this prayer followed:

“Dear Jesus,
Thank you for my daddy. Thank you for my mommy. Thank you for Bubba and KB. I love you, Jesus. Amen.”

Gets me all misty.
