Easter

Easter came early this year. Little has grown to big for smocked dresses and wants leggings all the time. Bubba grows faster than I can hem. KB is almost as big as her sister. It was hilarious getting them all ready for church.????????????????????????

Our friends Julia and Dave came over to spend the afternoon together and we had an egg hunt in the yard. It was fun to hear the kids talk about the day’s activities with a sense of expectation – they know our traditions and I LOVE that Julia and Dave are a part of those.????????????????????????????????

Lucky

??????????????????

KB had snacks on a Monday in March. . . the Monday before St. Patrick’s Day.  I didn’t read the note from the teacher until Sunday night and so I had to bust a move to pull snack together.  In honor of our leprechaun buddy, “Lucky”, I pulled together little cups of cereal and took milk for the teacher to pour.  Small effort – Big impact.

I have snacks again today . . . any ideas?

Laps

We are going through a very high energy phase here at the Blue Hutch.  We are trucking along through a day and then *BAM* the volume goes up, the sillies take control, and kiddos start to run.  At this point my blood starts to boil.

In an attempt to love my children well, I have launched a new “plan of attack” when these sillies start.  Everyone is told to get their shoes on and meet at the sidewalk.  One day I even told Honey to head out! Ready, Set, . . .

????????

GO!

????????

Usually they are told to do two laps around the house but occasionally I’ll call for three.  It’s been a great form of release for the kids’ energy and is usually just enough to remind them that they love to play outside OR to calm them down for a game inside.   Spring can’t get here soon enough!
