Gifts

Since Christmas, Little has really been into opening gifts. She loves to rip the paper. Tonight I loved watching her. She had to concentrate so hard to get her fingers to do what she wanted and the look of joy on her face as she saw what was in each package was so fun. Then she would whisper a “Thank you” that was so sincere it made my eyes tear and heart swell. True gratitude, baby! So, she can’t write a thank you note yet, but folks, know that she is so thankful!

Signing Time (with Alex and Leah) – Days of the Week:

OH, THANK YOU, Aunt Anna, Uncle Brice and Cole. She can’t wait to paint! And with the smocks Uncle Andy and Aunt Brooke sent, mommy’s excited too!
High Fives!
Concentrating so hard. She said, as if to herself, “It’s an orange game. It’s a pooh game. There’s letters.”If your gift was not shown or mentioned here, that means nothing. I was trying to comfort a crying baby and clean up a cupcake covered little boy while this was going on. We just didn’t get a photo of everything!

A Cupcake Birthday

Little got her cupcake birthday. She had to spend the day with us due to her sickness holding steady, but the day seemed to be a hit. It started with singing, balloons, and cinnamon rolls and continued with a new Signing Time video (a family favorite). There was the downer of having to take Uncle Andy to the airport but we tried to rebound by having lunch at Chik–fil-a. Then there were pumpkin pancakes for dinner (highly recommend) and cupcakes and presents.

She almost fell asleep in her daddy’s arms as he read the Bible story before bedtime. That made me a bit happy. All day I kept noticing how much she has grown. She is talking so much now. So many family members and even a friend called to wish her a happy birthday and she talked with them on the phone like such a big girl. At one point she went to ride Bubba’s rocking horse and the feet that used to barely touch the wooden base/rockers were now sitting flat on the floor!

My mom says I am so soft when it comes to my kids and I guess today proves she is right. Time flies, I tell you, and today made me want to put my arms around my little ones and try to hold them still in time.

And now the photos for the fam:

I know this isn’t the perfect shot, but I LOVE this picture. I love that smile!

Tshirts and Frogs

If you know me and my extended family, you know that tshirts are a deal with us. I don’t know why. We have tshirts to mark every big event. It’s a sickness. So, I have continued the tradition (?) by having a special tshirt for our children on their birthdays. So far the shirt always matches the theme of the day. Here is a walk down Little Lane and her shirts thus far . . .

Another birthday tradition is to take each child’s photo with their special object. During her first year of life, Little had her picture taken with Mr. Frog every month and since 1 yr. we have done it on her birthday. It is a fun way to see how much she has grown in a year.
