New Blog I Heart

When I lived in Australia we filled our home with furniture from Ikea.  One: it was all we could afford and Two: it was sorta fun!

The closest Ikea is now over four hours away but I get their catalog every year and dream of what I could do with some of  their “stuff”.  Apparently others have fun dreaming about doing and they send their photos to Ikea Hacker.

I have looked through the last 20 or so posts and thought this would give you a good taste.  (no pun intended!)

Go check it out – WHAT FUN!!

My Little Song

Oh give me a home
where wood spiders don’t roam
and the black yard moles do not play.
I don’t mind the deer
but the black ants, I fear,
are soon going to drive us away!

It’s Like a Heatwave

A quote from our friend, Dan’s, blog:

“the Weatherbug station about 2 miles from our apartment, the heat index or “feels like” temperature today was as high as 127°! Holy Cow!”

I echo the “HOLY COW”. Honey was going to go for a run last night and I begged him not to go. The desire to be healthy could have killed him in weather like that.

We went to get Little new glasses yesterday and Bubba was in tears from the heat within five steps from the van. (Thankfully there were only five more steps to go.)

They are predicting a heat index today of only 101. (The thing about days like yesterday is that they allow you to use words like “only” in reference to numbers like 101.) Glad we have a swimming play date this morning!
