Facebook

I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook.  I LOVE seeing friends I haven’t seen in virtually years.  Oh, I am sorry, I mean I HATE virtually seeing friends I haven’t seen in years.  Get my drift?

This week I “became friends” with a guy I carpooled with in 10th grade, a guy I sorta knew from when my brother was at college, and a girl I LOVE from Troy State University who I haven’t seen since graduation.  I read something that makes me think my friend, Aspa’s son swallowed a marble – that’s all I know.  What happened?? Details?? NOTHIN’!! Then I read something that makes me think one old friend lost a child this past year. . .

yea, I hate/love Facebook.  A reminder that the world is broken; people I love and have loved are hurting and rejoicing all over the world. . . I don’t know.

I will say, when I look at the faces off all my Facebook friends it makes me remember heaven is going to be one fun place.

Okay, gotta bolt.  Just noticed a friend from college poked me on Facebook and I don’t know what that means.  Good grief.

7.5 Pound Pedicure

A friend of mine has started blogging about her venture into weight loss; she calls it “going public” about her weight loss. I say I go public about my need for weight loss every time I go out the door, that feels like enough.

Last night as I was hoping to drift quickly to sleep; this desire was thwarted by my continuous thoughts of “going public” and how dry my feet are. I asked Honey, “If I lose 5 pounds can I go get a pedicure?” His response? “If you lose 10.”

Now, let me just interject that he was NOT being ugly – he knows I would want to lose 1/3 my body weight if at all possible and was just thinking to keep me motivated a bit longer. (He told me that he would just mock my feet daily so that I would feel more and more motivated – not funny.) I was not offended. I was am, however, pretty eager to get that pedicure. SO, we haggled and settled on 7.5lbs.

So, I am “going public” about my 7.5 pounds and need for a pedicure. Feel free to pop in and cheer me on at any time. My email address is up in the top right corner so you can send feet mockery as well. I’ll be counting down with the very “public” ticker at the bottom of the page.

Maybe I’ll start a new weight loss program Pounds for Peds.
