It’s Nice to Share

I haven’t posted a Walgreens “score” in a long time. My sister made a crack about how she doesn’t have to show off by posting pictures of all her Publix deals – – so I have been living in guilt and heaping “you shouldn’t show off” coals on my head.

Well, I am over it! I had a gal write me and tell me that this blog encouraged her to use coupons and so I say “It’s Nice to Share” ideas and “I’m Baaaaack“. Maybe you can see what I got here and replicate a deal or two where you are.

Value of Goods: $64.48
WAG and Coupon Savings: $24.54
Register Rewards: $15.50
Rebates: $14.48
Total Out of Pocket: $9.96
(it should have been $6.96 but the register guy missed two coupons
and the line had grown Looooooooong).
To learn how you too can get this razor for $.99 and the three boxes of children’s Tylenol for $3.97 just go read this post by Crystal at Money Saving Mom. You can get the cleanser, foundation and toothbrush for FREE!!

10 Day Give

The 10 Day Give is a challenge that is designed to help us get our minds off of ourselves and start thinking about how we can help others. I could use some help in this area, I tell you. So much is going on in me and even though I really want to make other people’s lives better I don’t see or take the chance.

For some people this challenge will mean giving money, for others time is far more precious than money, and for others it may mean their expertise in an area. But, no matter who you are, we all have something to give.

Wouldn’t it be fun if we all signed up for the challenge and shared what went down? Think of how fun to include our children in this! What Godly perspective this could give and maybe a habit could form!

Starting on October 10th, 2008 we are going to give something to a different person, each day until October 19th, 2008. It does not matter what the gift is, how much it costs, who it is given to, or how it is given. The point is to just to give – on purpose.

All You Quote

So I was reading through an All You magazine and ripping out great coupons. There was an article called, “We Found the Perfect Dress! – Stay cool in a hot frock that works with your figure”. I perused the pictures and write-up and was struck by this, “Great News!! This dress comes in size 30/32”.

Does that strike anyone else as funny? WHO is that great news for? I think even the woman who needed a size 30/32 would not find it GREAT news. GREAT?
