Tim Tam Slam

I received a package from Australia . . . it made me cry.  Two of the girls I used to spend time with there sent a package to cheer me up after daddy dying.  There were several things inside, all of which made me want to take my family to Brisbane, but the item that got my children excited was the two packages of Tim Tams.

This chocolate biscuit (cookie) is worth getting excited over and as soon as we had an afternoon of leisure, I taught them how to do the Tim Tam Slam: bite off a tiny bit of both ends and then drink your milk through the biscuit like it’s a straw. Eat the biscuit.  Close your eyes and sigh with happiness.  They mastered it pretty quickly:

Little Meets Lily

Our Little loves animals in a way that is hard to express in words. The joy one gets from watching her interact with animals can only be topped by the joy she is getting from the interaction. It’s one of the reasons I believe wholeheartedly that there will be animals in heaven . . .

Last week our joy meter almost burst because Little and I were taken to a “farm” nearby to meet a miniature horse named Lily.new friends

While the adults chatted, my little girl was focused on the new friend she had met and took the task of loving her very seriously. She led her to the barn. . .Lily leading Lilysprayed her with fly spray and brushed her top to bottom. . .brushingand then fed her treats.feedingI  teared up watching her. Life is simple for Little and her joy in found in such simple things – it is profound to watch and consider.

And just when we thought there couldn’t be more, Little was handed a hen to hold.little henThere were chickens everywhere and Lily followed some around the building and re-emerged holding one that she had chased down and caught by herself!!
