It’s Been Awhile

It’s been awhile since I rocked Walgreens but today was a fun day. I went to a different store where I like the lady who works in the cosmetics department. She actually followed me until she could get to me and say, “When you are ready to check out just come to the cosmetic counter.” and winked! I laughed and said I would do it and her response was, “This is so fun!”

We did seven different transactions and I ended up with this:

a $139 value for $38 (Little’s pull-ups killed me). The Reeses cup was purchased so that I could use a register reward to pay for the transaction. Pay $.50 to save $9 – okay!

Side Note:
I also had a VERY good Schnucks week!
18 lbs. of Pork Butt
3 packs of hot dogs (yes, we eat hot dogs)
4 boxes of pasta
2 boxes of Cheezits
16 lbs. of sugar
3 multi-packs of yogurt
$22!!!

Stuff

Drove all the way to Target tonight, got the kids into the buggy (a 3 seater), and all three started screaming and crying in such a way that we ended up back in the van and on the way home. Best part? Some lady actually said to me from two cars over, “I love the way your daughter keeps crying ‘I want to go IN.'” She even said it in a voice just like Little’s. Weird.

My Bubba bit his lip tonight. Lips bleed in ridiculous amounts disproportionate to the actual cut. I hate that. So, my shirt is now covered with blood and I couldn’t get him to sit still long enough to put cold on it or anything. Finally, I “woke up” and remembered that a song heals ALL Bubba wounds, so I told him we would hold the cold on only as long as it took me to sing “Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood”. He stood perfectly still and after I finished and took the rag off, he pulled it back to his lip and said, “Good singing, Mom. Sing it again.”

Little and I were going over the rules before lights out tonight and she said, “Tomorrow I will wake up and I’ll get up. And my head will get up. And my mind will be in there and it can get up too. And my soul is there and it looks like an A like this.” She then signs the letter “A” with both hands and crosses them in front of her. I finally realize it is the choreography for a song they are doing in the Christmas program. Still, it’s nice to know her mind and soul are in there.

Honey’s on a trip tonight so I am off to the couch to watch a Jennifer Anniston movie and crosstitch (for my mother). Have a great Friday night!

Follow Up

It’s funny to me that people outside my family read this blog. I am so “stream of consciousness” about topics. It is nice that people find our family interesting and my style not overly distracting.

Where is this coming from? I just got an email from a friend asking how Little’s sleep is coming along. I realized I never wrote about it. Never told you the MRI results. Never told you which headboard we chose. My stream just kept flowing onward.  So, here’s some follow up to these unanswered questions.

Little has seven stickers on her chart which means about 7/10 nights have been great. She is still waking up just before 6:00AM but the girl has rarely ever slept past six in her five years of life so this is normal for us. Thank you for your prayers – you don’t have to quit. Oh, and Monkey Joe’s is an indoor play land full of inflatables.

Bubba’s MRI results showed that his brain form was normal. So the nurse called and told me his brain was normal and I just laughed. Structure = normal. Autism = not so normal. Thank you for your prayers.
