a Promising Picnic

Promise Christian Academy had their welcome back picnic and, of course, our family attended.  It was a great time to meet new families and eat a meal I didn’t have to prepare.  I love seeing all the kids together and watching how much the students and teachers love each other.  God is so sweet to let us be a part of this school.

I was mid-conversation when I heard Bubba start weeping a bit and when I looked up I was greeted with the story of how he had bit into his hot dog and his tooth had come out.  Using precision parenting I went straight for diversion and squealed with delight over another lost tooth and swooned over the gap in his mouth.  I assured him that the “tooth fairy” would visit even if there wasn’t an actual tooth to collect and he seemed to calm down.

One more bite into his hot dog and he started to smile.  Out of his mouth he pulled . . . the tooth, of course.  All’s well that ends well, right?

I love a good tooth story :). I hope he looses his other top one, soon. I loved it when my kids had a gigantic gap on the top of their mouths–so cute :).
