There’s this thing floating around Facebook where you mark all the places you have been on the list of 100 they give you. There’s a tagline that reads, “We think most people will have been to fewer than 9 of these 100 places to visit before you die.” That’s nice.
So, I’ve been to 18 which, at least, allows me to “nyah-nyah” the Facebook people. I’m going to look at the rest of the list as a reference for future family vacations – we all know 2 special needs kids and a four year old would do GREAT climbing Ayers Rock! I am eager to know how many places my dad can mark off (or, more easily, which couple he hasn’t been too). Actually, my dad, brother, and friend Tammy – I am truly curious about these three.
Why don’t you all check out the list and let me know your tally.

I beleive I have officially been to 36 of the 100. Hmmm, no baseball stadiums, I would have rocked if they were listed!
I got 11 but some of those wee “just passing through on the way to somewhere else and all were in the USA Lower and Alaska.
I’ve been to 10, and all in the USA, so I can die happy. 🙂 Funny thing, if we do our trip we’re planning for summer I’ll hit 5 more. 1/2 of what it’s taken my whole life to see, in just one shot. Mo
Oh, my, what a sheltered unexciting life I’ve lived. Only 7 places out of 100 so far. Guess Laudon and I need to start looking outside the box. Adelaide
I’m not sure. I know I’ve been to 18, but I think I’ve been to 20. Some were as a child and I don’t remember them, but I know we went b/c I’ve seen pics. And I’ve seen some (maybe all?) of those places in Japan, but I can’t remember all of them specifically b/c it all sort of runs together in my mind.
9. a sad nine. but i’m with melanie, some of those places in japan sound familiar…is it just because i heard of them or because i’ve actually been. i counted them so that my number wouldn’t be pathetic. 🙂
16–not too bad, but I am definitely not a world traveler. Maybe one day I will add to my number, but I seriously doubt I will ever complete the list!
I think my count was 30. It would be 31 if you count flying over the Las Vegas strip on Southwest. It helps that I was born & raised in California and studied overseas. I haven’t been to Asia or south of the Equator, so I’ll have to put that on my “to go to” list. I do feel blessed to have seen so many incredible sights, and many more that aren’t on the 100 list.
I recounted (it was late last night) and this time I got 19 :). Maybe I should keep recounting and pretty soon I will have seen them all.
I was able to mark off 19, but the one that was most impressive to me wasn’t even listed, Normandy Cemetary in France. Quite impressive! This was fun, Glenda
33, I think ;). I’ve lived close to several of them…funny.
