What I Discovered While Making Hummus

Last night Honey and I went to The Hwy 61 Roadhouse for dinner and it was YUMMY.  I have to say that the sides were my favorite part of the meal.  We started with black bean hummus, there was okra, corn souffle, sweet potato fries, and mac-n-cheese unlike any I have EVER tasted.  Yum.  The portions were tiny and we split them all, so there wasn’t even a huge guilt issue to contend with.

The hummus was so good that Honey instructed me to find a recipe so we could recreate the little touch of heaven at home.  Of course I went to pinterest.com and allrecipes.com and I have two different (but similar) recipes to try.  In the course of finding these recipes I also learned a couple of things.

Did you know . . .

1. chickpeas = garbanzo beans
2. tahini = ground up sesame seeds

I did NOT know that.  Wow.
Ya learn something new everyday.
Just call me a lifelong learner. . .

Uhh, I did! All you had to do was ask. I guess that is the dip we will be having when we finally settle on a night to get together with you the Christians. BTW Dave Nolda was quite amused about Little’s new gift of naming cars, trucks and vans.

I have some tahini you can use. My jar is huge and I don’t make it that much.
