Love in any Language

Our house is a very multilingual place at the moment.  Spanish and Mandarin Chinese can be heard at just about anytime from any child; and I am pretty sure KB speaks her own language half the time.

The Spanish is thanks to Bubba’s class at Kirk Day School and a little Diego and Dora mixed in (KB counts to 10 over and over).  This is Bub’s singing a different version of “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes”:

The Chinese comes compliments of Ni-Hao, Kai Lan! The kids love this show and I love that they are learning pretty decent lessons on life and learning a bit of Chinese in the process.  KB has a real ear for it.  Little has a surprisingly good memory of it.

The two girls disappeared for awhile last night and I hear chatting and giggling coming from KB’s room.  Little emerged with this piece of work. . . the names of the characters on Ni-Hao, Kai Lan.  She used English phonics so I am not sure how correctly things are spelled, but LOOK AT THAT PENMANSHIP!!

Looks like a call to the cousins is in order so the kids can share their words.  KB is thrilled that she knows words Abigail knows.

That was fun I want more! The very last comment from KB was classic…”I know a Chick-fil-a song.” They are your children.
