Pagent Contestants say. . . World Peace!

I was reflecting back over the past week. It hasn’t been a great one. I haven’t been a nice mommy – little patience, unkind words, unreasonable expectations. It’s been downhill since the cows.

Well, I got to thinking about the “Dress Like a Cow” event and remembered I haven’t picked up our picture yet. (No, that’s not the point) I remembered my theory. Thought I would share.

You know how, when it snows, everybody is friendly? People come out of their homes, call out to each other, smile and, for a moment, are friends. You’ll sled down Art Hill with folks you wouldn’t have given a side glance to the day before.

Then there’s the wave. You know, the one at sporting events. Some redneck throws his hands in the air and within moments an entire stadium is standing to their feet and saying “Whoaaaa” as they sit back down. Folks smile, call out to each other, raise a glass and, for a moment, their friends.

When we were at the mall last week, dressed as bovine, complete strangers gave us the “thumbs up” sign. Some lady yelled, “Eat more Chicken” across the parking deck and waved. One lady gave me a run down of how she had thought about participating but just didn’t know where to find a cow costume. We thought we were headed to dinner in the food court but we ended up eating dinner surrounded by “friends”.

SO, my thought is, if we really want world peace, then what we really need is to dress like cows and do a planet wide wave in a snow storm. Whatcha think?

I am always surprised (I shouldn't be by now) at how quickly life can go from perfect peace and harmony in my heart and family to the total opposite–anxious, stressful, ugly. And then, all of a sudden, it turns around yet again–back to where it started(or at least back in that general direction :). I'll be praying that your week will turn around quickly.

Well, Betty Simpson would beg to differ. She would rather look her best than to wear a cow suit to promote PEACE! To use a qoute from her “How pedestrian.” Got to love that woman that is my Mother!

    This makes a great devotional!
    It's a great idea!

So very true and so very funny. When I am at the gym with A and I let her run the track with me, it's amazing how many folks smile and make comments, who would otherwise not say a word, let alone give a smile.
