9 Years Ago Today

So, nine years ago I got engaged to be married to my Honey.
NINE YEARS!

We met back in 1997 in my brother’s office and then “re-met” at a football game (we were invited by my brother, who DOES take complete credit for our existence as a couple).

Honey was heading to China to teach and I was considering China too and after four dates I knew I wanted to marry him. When he realized I wasn’t going to China after all, but had decided to move to Australia, he marked me off his list. I asked five friends to pray that he would fall in love with me – just like my brother had done with his wife.

It only took three years for the Lord to work in my Honey’s heart to make him my Honey till death do us part. Honey flew to Brisbane, Australia on February 13, 2000 and, because he knew I would just DIE if he asked on Valentines Day, he went ahead that night and asked me to marry him. Up on Mt. Cootha – a beautiful place that he just happened to pick by looking in The Lonely Planet.

Love ya, Bub!

Cute!!!! I had no idea he is so tall! How romantic, that you were so far away from each other! I love travel, so it is just so romantic to me!

And I remember you walking in to church, having had no one “on the scene” that WE were aware of, with an engagement ring on your finger!!!!! Unforgettable. We all wished we were in your shoes that day – it was all so romantic. “Move man by God through prayer alone” — all the way to the altar, hey! That has to be the best way to find a good spouse. Happy anniversary, you two!
