Be Still

My brother lives on the other side of the world. He is a busy guy with a sweet family. It is crazy to think of how much that man impacts my life from such a distance. As Rich Mullins says, “The other side of the world is not so far away. . .”

So last night I typed out my pity party and “woe is me” fest. This morning I took a few minutes to begin clearing out the 185 emails sitting in my inbox. I started from the bottom and the fifth one I looked at was from Andy. The subject line only said, “Check this out” and there was a link in the body of the email – that’s all. This link.

I clicked on the link and there I found a blog with an entry titled, “Be Still.” A mother of little ones wrote about her harried life and God’s call to be still. As I read I felt a physical response. Oh me of little faith. I hold others to such a high standard and give myself such “grace”. Today I long to be still and KNOW that He is God.

It’s going to be a bloggable day, I think. I am taking the three kids to a REAL hair salon to get haircuts because the school let us know yesterday that school pictures are Tuesday and I couldn’t get them to the fun video hair cutting place. A perfect day to be reminded to be still and KNOW.

Thanks, Andy for loving me! Keep it coming!!!
Oh, the important fact I left out that makes this so cool, is that Andy sent the email on May 18, 2008. Our God IS an awesome God.
