KB Photo Update

KB is almost 17 months and she AMAZES me. She is trying to repeat everything we say and actually says “yes” more than no (I am sure that will change, but for now it is nice.) Her favorite words are “Mama” (yea!) and “Bubba“. She hates for her diaper to be wet and asks to sit on the potty.
She did her first puzzle this week just because Bubba is always doing them and she so desperately wants him to interact with her. She is all about PEOPLE. It makes my heart hurt that she is surrounded by siblings who don’t know how to interact with her.
She is a joy. We love her.

Questions I asked myself just today. . .

1. Will my house ever return to a state where it doesn’t smell like pee or poop?
2. How can KB refuse to eat for a week and still produce so much poop?
3. Is there any problem the Backyardigans CAN’T solve?
4. Is there something wrong with the fact that I can do the entire dance from the Backyardigans intro?
5. What business is it of the guy at Hobby Lobby how many kids I have? (He told me I had too many)
6. How long ago DID Bubba throw those cars down into the heating vent?
7. Why do we own such a small washer and dryer?
8. When did Bubba decide he likes tuna?
9. How long has that stack been beside my bedside table?
10. WHERE DID THE ________ GO?? (Fill in the blank with anything you can imagine I might have looked for today.)

Pride Comes Before a Fall

The sickness continues so we are having to cancel Little’s party again. I can’t help feeling like it is a lesson for me in the “counting your chickens before they hatch” category. I got all excited about the details and put too much significance in it all and then for two weeks we have had to punt it.

We are going to have the party one day – just not sure when. And I’ll probably post pictures afterward but I am not going to tell anyone when it is coming. Maybe my heart will be in the right place and I can humbly help my daughter enjoy a celebration of turning five. That’s what I am going to pray toward – a fun celebration for her and her friends. Not a show for her friends’ parents.

How do I end up in these places?
