Mo’ of Mo

Mo just sent a couple photos from her visit last weekend. Thought I would add them because they are sooo adorable!

I love this of my kids all over Scott. He was showing them the stock photos on his blackberry. Hilarious how focused they are.

Tea Time

Every year, around Mother’s Day, our church has a mother/daughter tea. I went four years ago when Little was barely born and it was fun. I haven’t gone since because she was too little to sit through it.

This year the theme was Faith, Fables, and Fairytales and Little and I couldn’t wait to go. Everything was centered around children’s books and it was a wonderful morning. We asked our friend, Mrs. Janet, to go with us (she has no children living in town) and had a lovely time!

Little loved getting dressed up. She loved the hot tea and entertained everyone as she made a bookmark between courses. She recognized Eli right away in the skit of Max Lucado’s You Are Special and ate a gazillion chocolate chip cookies and strawberries.
I loved every second with her. Such a special memory. I can’t wait to go again next year.

‘Round These Parts

Just some random thoughts and things going on ’round these parts. . .

1. I fell asleep at 7:00PM tonight and slept (on the back porch) for 45 min.

2. Bubba keeps adding the word “man” to the end of his sentences.

3. Little’s favorite things to say right now are: “I don’t want to —–” and “I can do it” or “I can help” followed by “I’m a big girl. I’m tall.” and then there’s “I want to have a picnic for lunch today” and “Don’t touch me again!” (to her siblings). Then tonight she asked her dad, “Daddy, can mom bath me?” LOVED that one.

4. MY favorite things that KB is saying are: “Dis” (This)and “Hep” (help) and “diepa” (diaper) and “tuck” (stuck) and “shoes” (shoes) and “yah” (yeah – VERY Midwestern of her)!

5. Today was the last day of school meaning that I have 13 days to fill before summer school starts. What an unlucky number of days. I need a plan.

6. Honey was in bed by 9:00PM tonight.

7. I made brownies today, misread the amount of water and added 1 1/4 cups instead of 1/4 cup.

8. Bubba’s right tennis shoe is missing and has been for over a week. We have looked EVERYWHERE!!! It doesn’t help that my three children don’t answer questions – they only stand and stare. Well, that’s not really true. Little says, “I don’t know.” It is maddening. I gave in and bought new tennis shoes today – I’ll find the missing left shoe in the morning I am sure.

9. Little’s glasses were missing for 36 hours. Found those in her room. Behind her jewelry box.

10. Bubba read his first “book” today during reading time. In his excitement he starts looking at pictures and saying whatever ending he wants to add to the first letter.

11. If KB and I don’t get a hair cut soon, I am going to scream and shave our heads. Her mullet is killing me.

12. I got a birthday card from a gal in Utah who reads my blog. We’ve never met. I think that is super nice! (Thanks, Melissa!)

13. My older brother is turning 40 in 13 days. Dude!

What’s going on in your neck of the woods?
