I LOVE the comments people – keep ’em coming. BUT if you are to comment as anonymous, please know that it’s anonymity with Google – – I want to know who you are.

In that vein, who wrote the night light comment on this post?

Oh, and Jennifer, this might be the best option for you to leave a comment if you’ve had trouble. I must say, though, I love getting a text message after every post you read! It’s exciting to hear my phone go, “Boinga Clicka” announcing a text!

Don’t want to jinx it, but. . .

Little has gone 2 full nights without coming into our room!!!

Now, I don’t say that she has slept two nights because the first night I heard her twice. I am jumping ahead. Let me start at the beginning. That will take too long. Let me sum up (hee hee).

We went to the pediatrician on Saturday to rule out ear infections, etc. and our sweet Dr. Dave looked me in the eye and said, “I really believe it is behavioral. You are going to have to get to work.” Great. He has four kids and so he laid out the plan they have used before and then called Little over to himself and said, “Little, listen. When mommy puts you to bed tonight you are going to stay in bed all night, okay?” She said, “I certainly will.”

That night we wrote the new bed rules in her journal and she and I both signed it. The rules are basically this:
1. She is to stay in bed all night long.
2. If she gets up, I will take her back to bed one time only.
3. If she cries I will not come back in.
4. If she lays quietly then I will check on her in 2 min. (Dr. Dave was concerned she might be frightened of something.)
5. If she stays in her bed all night she gets a sticker (I made a cute chart – see it. . .).
6. If she gets 10 stickers we will go to Monkey Joe’s – as a family. (She added the as a family “because that’s so fun”.) Night 1: I heard Little twice. Once she started to call out, “I neeeeeeed you.” but stopped short at, “I neeeeee” and all was quiet. Several hours later I awoke to the sound of her twisting the door knob and then heard her say, “I will obey.” and she went back to bed. (Right now you are saying, “I wish my kid had a special brain!!”)

Night 2: Not a peep until 5:50AM (5 minutes after our alarm went off). Little called out, “Mommy, I just can’t see. It is too dark.”

So, thank you for all your prayers. Don’t stop now, mind you. While our “black and white” brained Little has done well these two nights, I am not foolish enough to think that stickers are the wonder cure. Without our Lord’s help she might just decided a sticker isn’t worth it. Or what if they close Monkey Joe’s.

Okay, now I am just being silly. But still – – “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.”

Bargain Shopping Hint

Once upon a time someone told me that Target marked stuff down on the same day each week. I thought I would print the schedule for you guys so you can be frugal and multiply (your dollars, that is).

Year-round: (note: this may vary from store to store, but this is the general rule)
Monday — Infants department, Kids clothing and Electronics
Tuesday — Women’s clothing, Domestics
Wednesday — Men’s clothing, Garden, Toys, Health/Beauty
Thursday — Lingerie, Shoes, Housewares, Sporting Goods, Luggage
Friday — Cosmetics, Hardware, Auto, Home Improvement and Jewelry

Holidays:
All holidays except Christmas follow the 3-3-2 rule:
The first 3 days after the holiday are 50% off.
The next 3 days are 75% off.
The next 2 days are 90%.
After that it goes to salvage.

Information gathered from A Full Cup.
