Aunt B

My sister finally posted to her blog and now I am free to tell you that I am going to be an Aunt again! I’ve known for weeks but Anna didn’t tell our parents and the inlaws until Thanksgiving, so I’ve been keeping the secret.

In true Cheely form, Anna made the announcement using tshirts. It was fun because my brother and I were on phones which had been strategically placed in the Jackson’s living room. We could hear everything. There was a speech about wanting to tell the parents how thankful they were for them. . . blah, blah, blah. . . they had gotten them gifts to show their gratitude. . . silence.

It was SO HARD not to giggle. We all expected my mom to squeal and she did NOT disappoint.

So, little BJ (baby Jackson) will be here in early July.

We couldn’t be more excited!

Bubs and Drake

This past Sunday some friends had to drive a couple hours for a visitation and asked if we would have their son over for the afternoon. It took no thought to say yes – Bubba talks about very few people but Drake is one of those people. I couldn’t wait to see them together.

It was a pretty funny afternoon. Drake doesn’t talk a lot so for the first time EVER it seemed like Bubba was a jabber-jaws. After an hour of them goofing off in Bub’s room and me listening to every word, I suggested a quiet activity in the den. The girls were asleep and I hoped this would help them stay that way.

Hoping to help Bubba stay still, I sent him to get his bean bag and blanket. He plopped down and Drake plopped down right beside him. They both stuck their thumbs in their mouths and got ready for Cars.

This is how they sat/laid for about half an hour. . . then they were up and at it again.

Our Talker

Little is a talker.

Just now my sleeping beauty spoke in her sleep. I kid you not. Her room connects to our bathroom and I was taking my makeup off. She said, “Oh my goodness gracious. I’m going to need my umbrella.” I AM SERIOUS.
