Killjoy

Apparently I have been a real killjoy over the past week. I received a “buck-up camper” email and phone call which brought my gloom to my attention. Sorry.

In an effort to communicate my life is still brimming with joyful moments, I bring you a few photos of the kiddies and an adequate amount of cuteness to make even the grumpiest of readers say “aawwwww“.

Bubba got his fifth “poop in the potty” sticker which meant a poopy treat for him. This was a toy he was given at Christmas but I stashed it in the closet for such a time as this! He loves it (I have a video I will post later that proves it) and what’s so funny is, he calls it his “poopy treat”! Hilarious. We already have two stickers toward our next treat!

Bubba is VERY concerned that KB is going to “swipe” his toys. Too much Dora, I guess, but I will hear him say, “KB – no swiping!” Again – hilarious.

Fashion police called on this one. They are calling foul on the long term wear of arm guards. Those boots have been worn daily with such a wide range of outfits. Again. Hilarious.

After her Valentine party at school, Little brought home a. . . trivet! Now I am the proud owner of two matching trivets! If every room mom uses this as the Valentines Day craft throughout elementary school, I will have a nice coaster set! Or, I could re-do our backsplash.

(Thanks, Stephanie!)

Valentines Day

I’m just not a fan of this holiday.
I’m definitely not a fan of holidays on Sunday.

We had nursery duty yesterday.
We had snow yesterday.
I went to do nursery duty and Honey came an hour later for Sunday School and then worship.
KB had a MAJOR toileting accident and no change of clothing so I got beeped out of church.
By the time I got to the nursery they had found a red corduroy jumper for her to wear but no shoes.
The kids gave me disobedience for Valentines Day.
I was going to get Honey a gallon of sweet tea from a restaurant down the street but they wanted $6 for it. I told them that this Southern gal was NOT paying $6 for sugar and water! (Really, I only thought that.)
Honey picked out the PERFECT card (again). HILARIOUS.
We had small group last night.
I fell asleep before 10:00PM.

On to Easter. . . now there’s a holiday that I can buy into *wink*
(even on a Sunday!)

Drawers – Now and Then

I dragged the children out to visit Bed, Bath, and Beyond and purchase dividers for my utensil drawer. It was killing me that we had cleaned out this drawer but it still looked chaotic and unfinished without the divider ditties. Our gazillion year old house has really narrow drawers, apparently, so I got two drawers for the price of one!

Don’t they look pretty??

Now, as a reality check for everyone and for the sake of honesty, I think I need to post a couple more photos. My brother has reminded me in the past that life as a mom is not a competition and I do think that blogging sometimes promotes that mindset. Since I would HATE for anyone to get the idea. . . wrong idea that I am super orderly and a neat freak, etc. I thought I would show update pictures on the drawers I organized in October 2009! (See here and here for the organized drawers.)

And here we see the top drawer of our blue hutch in it’s present state:

And here is the bottom drawer:

We’ll see how the utensil drawer looks four months from now!!!
