My Doctor Who

Honey and I just finished watching David Tennant’s final episode of Dr. Who. I am a bit ashamed to say that I cried.

Several things about this tick me off. It ticks me off that my husband can suggest a Sci-Fi show to me and, against my will, I love it. It ticks me off that David Tennant’s character was just so good that you couldn’t help but love him. It ticks me off that all good things must come to an end.

It’s like saying bye to a friend. (spoiler alert) As he revisited each major character from the past five years and told them goodbye, I felt like I was saying goodbye too.

It’s too corny for words. Guess I am just corny.
Bye Bye, DT! You are MY Doctor!

And To Think You Can See It on My Street!

We live in a pretty “well-to-do” part of the county. It makes me smile, really. Not because I like to be surrounded by money *wink* but because driving home from. . . anywhere, reminds me of God’s faithfulness to us, love for my children, and sense of humor!

This resort home is just being completed. I swear they could fit a small country’s population in this place (comfortably).

This home is beautiful. The five car garage and the four cars parked outside of it were unable to fit in the photo.

This fellow has been built in the past year as well. I have never seen any people near the place but I feel certain a very large family must live here.

A few more houses on my street. . .

This one is for sale! (Just under $8 million – 8 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms)

And then you round the corner and you are surprised by:

So, what do I think about while driving home? It goes something like this, ” We live less than a mile from that $8 million dollar house. I am so glad we live so close to the church and Honey wasn’t late this morning because we live so close to his office. Our kids are in the PERFECT schools for their needs. We live in a 68 year old farmhouse with four bedrooms and just look at all “our” trees. There’s a deer! It’s like God kept this little haven just for us.”
How do I dare to ever doubt Him?

Mother’s Day Weekend – Chickfila

We’re friends with the staff at our local Chickfila. Not only do we show up dressed as cows once a year, Honey brings them lots of business from the school. . . and he eats there EVERY Monday. So, I thought it was sweet when they sent me an invitation for dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day.

We headed to the mall on Saturday night. The arrangement was that my meal would be free, everyone would receive coupons for their NEXT visit, and there would be table side service. When we arrived there were tables with pink carnations. Jennifer, the marketing gal, helped us with high chairs and then took our order. I asked about using a coupon and she announced that all the meals were free. They had budgeted for a certain amount of families to come and 1/5 of that had rsvp’d . . . yea for us!

Everyone got a meal AND dessert (special night, I tell you) and there was a sweet bouquet for me and a goodie bag with Bath and Body Works items, chocolate, and many many coupons for free sandwiches. Not bad!

It was such a fun night and we were so grateful for God’s provision for our family. The best Mother’s Day experience for me. . . good food and a good deal!
