Bowling – Seriously

I haven’t been bowling since I first got married. That’s not true. We went bowling in Kansas City in March 2009, still, it isn’t something I do often.

Several weeks ago, our small group from Bible Study went bowling. Let me rephrase that. . . the women under 40 went bowling. It was hilarious. It was fun. It was sad: I lost by 1 point.

The pregnant gal on the far left. . . she isn’t in our small group! Annie was in seminary at the same time as we were and she is a great friend of Anna’s (gal in gray sweatshirt). She was visiting and came along for the fun. It was GREAT to see her, catch up a bit, and laugh together.

When Annie stepped up to bowl for the first time she actually asked how to put her fingers in the ball. THEN she turned around and bowled a strike. Just super.

I’m thankful for this group and the friendships God has blessed me with. Can’t wait till our next girl’s night out. Maybe we’ll play putt-putt?

Mother’s Day – Toddler Time Tea

I realize that Mother’s Day was AGES ago, but I have blog lag (read “I’m behind on posting pictures for distant relatives).

Once a week KB attends our church’s mother’s morning out program, Toddler Time. The Wednesday after Mother’s Day, the class had a tea for the moms. It was SO fun.

There were long pieces of tape for the kiddos to line up on. This picture shows two classes combined. The front row is KB’s class – 9 girls and Owen.
KB was perfectly relaxed. Being in front of a room full of Paparazzi Parents didn’t phase her one bit. Where does she get that from?

Maggie was not as relaxed and KB spent the first two songs trying to console her. I kept hearing her say, “Maggie, there’s your momma.” Just before song three, Maggie’s momma let Maggie come sit with her.
Song 3 was called “Your Face” and was one of KB’s favorites, naturally. They ended with “I love my mommy and my mommy loves me. . .I’m going to give her a great big hug.” *sigh*

Yes, we look alike. Moving on. . .
There were gifts: a bookmark with KB’s picture placed just right so her face peeks out of my book, a photo of us together, and a flower pot painted with her finger-print ladybugs an a flower pen stuck inside.
Being a mom can be so great.

Bubba’s Doodle

This HAS to be recorded for memory’s sake; it’s just that great. It’s also a bit colorful so . . .sorry.

Bubba left his Magna Doodle at the church a couple weeks ago and now it’s gone. Why was his Magna Doodle at the church? We had gone to Fashion Show practice and it kept him busy for the duration. But, now it’s gone and that is a sad affair indeed.

Wednesday we went to Wal-Mart to get a couple things, one of which was a new Magna Doodle. My plan is that Bubba isn’t going to get it until his next poopy chart is filled up. I had to purchase it, though, and as a stay-at-home-mom with three kids it was inevitable that they would be with me when I did.

They were.
On Wednesday.
No one who was in the store that day is likely to ever forget.

Basically, Little kept saying (loudly) over and over and over and over (you know how it goes) these two things:
“Mom, can I see Bubba’s doodle?” and “Can I play with Bubba’s doodle?”

SHE JUST WOULDN’T STOP.
