Whispers of Back To School

Yeah, we haven’t started school yet.  We like to live on the edge that way.  Class lists were posted today – at 5:00PM – on the window of the breezeway.  It was like going to see to what part you had been cast in the school’s production of Annie.  Little has the teacher I had been told she would have BUT her little friend Meagan is not in there with her.  She was fully aware what was happening and visibly disturbed.  We chatted about the new friends God has for her to meet and maybe a couple of them needed to know our heavenly Father and he wants to use Little in their lives.  She told her dad about it in a much happier tone.
It’s freezer food swap night but I sent Honey with our cooler full of Chinese Chicken so that I could get somethings done.  I have been putting together an Education Support Information packet for Little’s teachers and that came to a head since we planned to give them out during the school’s “Meet and Greet” which just happens to be tomorrow! This has personal info about Little, but also has articles that cover the diagnosis itself, big ideas for education, and more.  I am excited about being able to give this to Mrs. Phelan tomorrow.

Lastly, I had a LOT of pens.  School supplies days bring out the worst in me and this week you could get a pack of pens for under $.50.  I made a little tag:
And wah-lah! A little something to make the day/event extra special.
These tags are available on atouchofcutesy.com! Go check them out and we’ll let you know how tomorrow goes!

Wedding Gift

Wedding gifts are tricky.  I remember we really wanted the things we registered for (why else would we have spent hours on the decisions?) but loved the personalized gifts that people chose for us.  It was special that someone would share their talent (a friend painted our invitation – so delicate and special) or personal favorite item.

We had friends get married this weekend and their registry had been picked dry.  Seriously! I’ve been to their house and I don’t know where they will put it all! Still, we wanted to give them a little something.  You can read more about it here.

If You Take a Kid to Storytime. . .

My sweet and precious friend April called on the Saturday of our Staycation and made a golden offer.  It seems she had seen the day’s agenda and wondered how I planned to clean out the closet with kids running around and so she took it upon herself to remove said kids from the equation.  She came to pick them up and took them, along with her 10 month old (CB), to storytime at Barnes and Noble.

I adore this picture.  CB really loves books already and my two could listen to stories for hours.  I realize it looks like no one else attended, but the truth is they arrived after the reading was done and April asked the lady to read it again.  And the lady did.  She read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie for Little, Bubba, and CB! Sweet.

Having the mouse himself at the reading was a special treat and the kiddos got hugs before heading off to make their “craft”.

Then April went above and beyond all I could have hoped for or imagined and took the kids to Chickfila for lunch! Wonder Woman!!! They even spent some time in the mall playland.  Too fun:
What a dear friend.  I got the entire storage closet re-done in those two hours.  I was a happy happy mommy and my kids were happy happy kids.  Honey took KB out for errands and even they had fun.  What a blessing.  Thank you, sweet April.  I am so thankful for your friendship and that we have “overlapped’ during an addtional season of life.
