We Won!!!!!!

Just got a phone message from my daddy and an email from the Head of School at Promise Christian Academy. My dad’s MSG was his voice yelling out, “We Won!” in a sing-song way. The email from Meredith was much more. . .controlled and I thought I would share.

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” (Albert Einstein)

My dear friends, this is a miracle that a school of 22 students, pulled off a grant of this magnitude.  We are delighted that so many Promise friends from the USA to Canada to Columbia to Brazil to Britain to France to Italy to Germany to China to Korea to Indonesia to Uganda and beyond supported Promise.  Every vote counted! Ultimately, we want to give all the praise, honor and glory to our heavenly father for blessing us with His abundance!

To God be the Glory!

I want to thank you guys for voting and loving my little girl from afar. Thank You! Thank You!

The Darndest Things – Little

We were at the doctor last week having Little’s leg checked. (She fell and got a bruise in May and it just went away a week or two ago. Although the blue is gone, the bump/knot is still present and Little’s OT sent us to the doctor. Turns out it is a “calcified hematoma.) While at the doctor the conversation went in a direction that caused me to consider yet again if Little truly understands her brain condition and if she is aware of the affects. I thought I would ask her and see what happened.

On the way to the car I asked, “Little, do you understand you have a special brain?”
She answered, “Of course I do.”  I continued, “Do you find that some things are hard because of your special brain?”  Quietly she said, “yeah” and I asked what types of things were hard.  She held her LeapPad out in front of her and said with a slight grin, “Doing this is hard for me.”  I knew right away that she wasn’t really following what I was asking and so I followed up with, “Is Math sometimes hard for you?” To which she quietly said, “yeah.”

Once we got in the van I thought I would say something “profound” to end the discussion and so I asked, “Little, who made that special brain of yours?” “God did,” she answered. Seizing the moment I added, “God made your special brain for a special purpose. I can’t wait to see just what he does with my special girl.”

She said, “He made me special. Did He make Lion’s Choice too?”
“Where did that come from?” I asked.
“He made Lion’s Choice special ’cause they have ice cream cones. And McDonalds too ’cause THEY have ice cream cones. Can we go get an ice cream cone, Mamma?”

That was that. . . what I took away was that my daughter knows God made her for a purpose and in her mind she is as special as an ice cream cone (which is VERY special in her mind!!)

The Finish Line is in Sight

Happy Sunday!

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24

We have been racing for the last 13 days. We can see the finish line. Saturday was a back and forth day! We are SO close. We are racing for the children of Promise, His image bearers.

Today, at church, will you ask 10 – 20 people to vote for Promise? This afternoon, will you reach out to your neighbors and ask them to vote for Promise? Will you send one more email blast? Will you post it one more time on facebook?

Will you click here to help us finish the race and win the prize?
Thank you, friends.
